Attention! Attention!
Yes, this is huge news for Gwen Stefani and crew but Paramore is also playing. Paramore? Really? If you don’t know this rock group already, they have performed on the MTV VMA’s and have had a smash hit. However, I was not expecting for this band to be on tour with No Doubt. I thought they we’re going to go through hiatus after naming their last tour “The Final! Riot Tour”. I guess I was wrong, especially since they we’re mentioned in the January 2009 Alternative Press issue that they will release a new record this summer. I guess the break-up scare last year made them stronger.
Putting this band aside, I want to focus on one of the other opening acts. Supporting acts on the tour are The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash. Forget the other two, I just want to see Janelle Monae! My guess is you have never heard of her. She is a new, upcoming artist who has a unique and refreshing sense of style. Her R&B, punk mixed sound is perfect. She is definitely on the rise and should be on your music radar. Her video for her hit single “Many Moons” is outstanding.
